Kenny Klein started with the business in 1959, along with Chick Knollenberg at the back of Utility Trailer. Chick later moved the business to Van Ness avenue and it started to grow. Additional mechanics were hired and trained as needed. Kenny bought Chick's Frame & Wheel Service in 1981 and moved it to their present location in 1984.
His son Kevin joined business in 1976 and son Steve in 1981. At Chick's Frame & Wheel Service they do front end repair on cars, trucks, buses, motor homes, and 4x4's. They also balance wheels, true tires, repair brakes, and straighten frames. They work on everything from small foreign cars to large trucks. The business presently employs 8 highly skilled mechanics.
Well that is the way it was back in 1984! Hi this is Steve Klein (above left) and a lot has changed since 1984 for instance I'm now the owner of Chick's Frame and Wheel. Kenny Klein (above middle) has since retired to enjoy the easy life along with his wife Darene of over 53 years and his Old English Bulldog "Murphy", and yes he still owns that 1956 Ford F-100 pictured above. I'm proud to call both of them my parents! Kevin Klein (above right) has since moved on to own a web development/design company & is a professor at Fresno State.
